White Wine Gems - NOW ONLY $15!

NOW ONLY $15 PER PERSON!

There is a huge, beautiful world of white wine varietals beyond Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc. Wine and Spirits Director Nate Norfolk is beyond excited to showcase these lesser-known styles of white wine that deserve their time in the sun, from Gruner Veltliner, Albarino and Pinot Blanc, to Vermentino, Verdejo, and Viognier. This class will feature our client and family favorite, food-friendly white wine values produced from some of the most underappreciated grapes and wine regions across the world.

Featuring: Envidia Cochina Albarino, Rias Baixas, Spain (Suggested Retail $24.99), Vietti Arneis, Roero, Italy (SR $24.99), Gustave Lorentz Pinot Blanc, Alsace, France (SR $19.99), Fess Parker "Marcella's" Grenache Blanc Blend, Santa Barbara, CA (SR $19.99), Argiolas Vermentino di Sardegna, Italy (SR $14.99), Green Eyes Gruner Veltliner, Niederosterreich, Austria (SR $13.99), Evolucio Furmint, Tokaj, Hungary (SR $12.99), Domaine de Pouy, Cotes de Gascogne, France (SR $11.99).

Ray’s Rum Summer Fun

Aged rums are some of the most complex spirits in the world (and considerable values when compared to Scotch, Bourbon and Cognac). In this class we will explore aged rums from Jamaica, Guyana, Martinique, Barbados, and other areas. These treasures from the Caribbean and South America possess a range of flavors from subtly sweet to deep, earthy and smoky notes. This class is a must for rum lovers, and anyone who enjoys the flavors of other aged spirits.

Greatest Imported Wine Values

We sample through thousands of wines at Ray’s each year, and consistently find specific wine regions producing delicious wines that won't break the bank, providing the most bang for the buck with their amazing quality to price ratios. From Southern Italy’s robust reds, Portuguese red table wines, to a multitude of values from Spain, and the emerging wines from South Africa’s coast. Nate Norfolk will host this evening as we taste and discuss styles of wine that are the best values throughout the world. This is perfect for anyone who wants to expand their basic knowledge of wine, and or to branch out from drinking the same old wines.

Gin: The History and Styles

Gin drinkers have never had more options. The challenge though, is how to navigate through all these choices. Wine & Spirits director Nate Norfolk will explore and explain the many different styles including: London Dry, Genever, Old Tom, Botanical, and the loosely defined “New American” gins. We’ll also explore how these gins work with classic cocktails, and we’ll feature some new and delicious tonics.

Wine Basics: How Sommeliers Taste Wine

Please note that this class starts 30 minutes earlier than most classes!

Between movies and television, sommeliers are in the spotlight like never before. These professionals sample an endless variety of wines throughout their careers, and as sexy as that sounds, there is a very objective method as to how they assess all those wines behind the scenes. Ray's Wine & Spirits Director Nate Norfolk is a Certified Sommelier, and he will demonstrate how the Court of Master Sommeliers taste wines blind, and how sommeliers break down the characteristics of every different wine they sample. We will taste eight wines in this class, each from a classic wine region including Bordeaux, Napa Valley, Tuscany, and Burgundy.
